Where to eat Kosher (and vegan) in Barcelona?
Updated: 2 days ago
Barcelona's main kosher and Jewish-friendly dining spots include El Falafel de Shani (kosher falafel at La Boqueria), Ben Ben Kosher House (kosher supermarket), and Taim (kosher Israeli catering), with vegan-friendly options like Debby's Good Veggie Food nearby. Whether you're looking for a kosher meal after a day exploring the Gothic Quarter, provisions for Shabbat, or simply a taste of Israeli cuisine, Barcelona has a growing selection of Jewish-owned restaurants, kosher supermarkets, and welcoming community spaces.

Imagine wandering through the colourful aisles of La Boqueria, Barcelona's famous market. The scent of fresh fruit, spices and seafood fills the air as locals and visitors weave between the stalls. Then, tucked away among the bustle, you discover El Falafel de Shani a little corner of Israel in the heart of the city.
Fresh pita, crispy falafel, creamy hummus, shakshuka, sabich, vibrant salads and a friendly face, Shani makes this one of the city's favourite stops for both locals and visitors. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a relaxed meal after exploring El Call, El Falafel de Shani offers authentic Israeli flavours just a short walk from Barcelona's medieval Jewish Quarter. Our 4-hour Rumours, Secrets & Legends tour ends here, with falafel at Shani's stall in La Boqueria.

For a more contemporary dining experience, Taim brings together Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine in a modern, welcoming setting. Their menu celebrates fresh ingredients, generous sharing plates, grilled vegetables, shawarma, homemade hummus and seasonal specials, making it an excellent choice for families, couples and groups alike. Taim also prepares special Shabbat packages and can deliver kosher meals directly to your hotel, making it easy to enjoy a proper Shabbat dinner wherever you're staying in Barcelona.
They are located in Les Corts.

Kosher Wine Tasting at Call Barcelona
Did you know Spain makes kosher wine? More than five centuries after the 1492 expulsion of Spain's Jews, producers in regions such as Priorat, near Barcelona, have built a kosher wine industry.
Call Barcelona, a Judaica shop run by Chabad right in the heart of El Call, carries a curated selection of these kosher wines alongside books, Shabbat essentials, and other Jewish ritual items. On our 4-hour Rumours, Secrets & Legends tour, a wine tasting here is available as an optional add-on, where we stop for a chat with Dani from the Chabad community. Please ask when you book. a small but memorable way to pair centuries of Jewish history with a taste of Spain's Jewish winemaking revival.

Not every traveller is looking for kosher certification, and Barcelona is one of Europe's leading vegan destinations. Debby's has become one of our favourite recommendations. While not kosher certified, its entirely plant-based menu, fresh Mediterranean ingredients and creative dishes make it an excellent option for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone looking for a delicious, wholesome meal. They also cater for our event and seminars hosted at Casa Adret and are a beautiful team!
Ben Ben Kosher House
If you're staying in an apartment or simply prefer to prepare your own meals, Ben Ben Kosher House is an essential stop. More than just a kosher supermarket, it offers fresh products, Israeli groceries, challot, wines, sweets and ready-made meals.

Salterio tea house: Vegetarian in the Old Jewish Quarter.
Right next to Casa Adret, Salterio is a small tea house tucked into the medieval walls of El Call, and one of our favourites for a quiet stop after a tour. The menu is vegetarian (dairy, but no meat or fish), with great salads, sardos (filled flatbreads) and a long list of teas, including Moroccan mint tea. It is not kosher certified.
Address: Carrer de Salomó ben Adret 4, El Call, Barcelona
