European Pathways to Minority Religious Heritage: Inclusive Heritage in Adult Education

We are proud to form part of MIRETAGE a three-year Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership coordinated by the University of Groningen, bringing together eight organisations from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain.

The project responds to a key European challenge: while cultural heritage is increasingly recognised as a tool for social cohesion, minority religious communities remain underrepresented in mainstream heritage narratives, and community-based initiatives often lack sustainable educational frameworks. MIRETAGE aims to empower adult learners as heritage-makers, strengthen educators’ competencies through creative methods, and position heritage education as a tool for civic engagement and social inclusion in Europe.

Mozaika & Toldot Barcelona play a central role in the design and testing of innovative heritage-education methodologies, drawing on hands-on experience in minority religious heritage, storytelling, and participatory learning

Beneath the Stones: Memory, Identity, and Reimagining Legacy

Beneath the Stones is an educational project designed to equip teachers, students and community leaders from Barcelona’s local Jewish community with tools to share and promote their historical and cultural heritage beyond the classroom. The project aims to foster a deeper connection to Jewish heritage, empower young people as narrators and custodians of collective memory, and build inclusive public narratives rooted in identity, resilience, and pride. Through education, storytelling, and community engagement, Beneath the Stones seeks to make Jewish history visible, accessible, and meaningful within the broader social and cultural landscape.

This project is made possible with the support of Paideia, The European Institute for Jewish Studies.

Create your own program

Seminars, groups tours and study sessions in Casa Adret.

Casa Adret offers a unique and inspiring setting for group study sessions and incubator programmes for 15–30 participants. Located in a historic medieval building in the heart of Barcelona’s Jewish quarter, Casa Adret brings learning into direct dialogue with place. Drawing on a network of educators, historians, activists, and artists — or working with your own faculty— we co-design tailored educational and team-building workshops exploring Jewish culture, heritage, art, and text. For travelling study groups, Casa Adret is a natural anchor point: a space to pause, reflect, learn, and connect.
