Service Description

Casa Adret: Located in the heart of the old call(Jewish quarter) of Barcelona,  this 12th century palace-house stands as a tribute to its last Jewish owner, the Jewish-Catalan merchant Astruc Adret, who was forced to convert to Christianity after the pogrom of 1391. An architectural gem, refurbished by award-winning architects Elías Torres and José Antonio Martínez Lapeña. Combining entrance to La Sinagoga antigua and MUHBA Call museums, we’ll delve into the fascinating story of the Catalan Jews as we walk through el Call. Explore Jewish life in the Barcelona Aljama, learn where the RASHA served for nearly 50 years, and see few archaeological remains from the old Jewish neighbourhood. You’ll meet poet Moshe Natan, merchant Massot Avengena, Rabbi Solomon Adret, the significance of 1391 attacks and more, all in the enchanting streets of the Gothic Quarter.
