Located 100km north of Barcelona, on the ancient Roman Via Augusta, an important Roman crossroad, this small Catalan city hosts a surprising and incredible Jewish history. Famed as having one of the best preserved Medieval Jewish quarters in Europe, Girona was an important rabbinical center, an important center of Kabbalah, birthplace of Nahmanides, reaching cultural grandeur in the 13th and 14th centuries. Today, Girona is a leader in research and investigation of the history of the Catalan Jews.     In this tour, deconstruct ideas of cohabitation, coexistence, and what daily life looked like for this Jewish community of the Middle Ages on a tour of El Call.
