Most tours pass through history. This one opens the door.

(Note: If you are booking a Jewish Heritage Tour, you do not need to book this visit separately.)

Casa Adret is one of the few medieval Jewish homes in Barcelona — and it is very much alive. In this tour, you don’t just learn about Jewish Barcelona—you step inside a space where its legacy is actively researched, taught, and re-imagined.

In this 25-minute CASA ADRET guided visit, you are invited inside a 12th-century building that brings together architecture, archaeology, community, and Jewish history in one intimate space. Rather than a traditional museum visit, this experience offers a layered introduction to the house itself: its structure, its transformations over time, the Jewish lives once lived within its walls and its current role as a Jewish cultural hub.

Visitors will explore:

  • Medieval architectural elements and archaeological remains of this 4 story palatial home

  • The history of Jewish life connected to the house and its surroundings

  • The documented story of Casa Adret, often surrounded by legend and frequently misidentified as the home of the Rashba

  • Casa Adret’s role today as a living center for Jewish culture, research, and dialogue

Casa Adret currently hosts and collaborates with European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage (AEPJ), Cultural platform Mozaika, and the Institute of Jewish Studies, serving as an active working space for education, research, and contemporary cultural projects.

Who is this visit for?

  • Those wanting a deeper insight into the Jewish quarter

  • Curious minds wanting to know secret Barcelona

  • Architecture enthusiasts

  • Those who have not joined one of our Jewish Heritage tours

This short visit offers a rare opportunity: not just to learn about Jewish Barcelona, but to stand inside one of its most significant surviving homes.
